New York at Last! What an interesting city, filled with contrasting sights; marble statues against glass skyscrapers, the buzzing time Square and the eerie silence on the top of the Empire State Building. We started both days driving to the Bronx and trying to find a parking spot. We then took the train to Manhattan. This first day was a lot of walking. We saw Ground Zero, Trinity Church, the Stock Exchange, Times Square, the Opera house, Central Park (we needed a rest after all that walking!!) and we got to go to the top of the empire State Building. What a view! The best part was the pigeon standing near the top of the building. What a flight! It took us a minute to get up in a speeding elevator, and I mean speeding, almost twenty five miles per hour if my math is to be trusted, straight up. It was shaking! And the bird did it on his own wings. Now to some things not pictured. I liked the giant Toys R Us, it had a giant Lego Jack Sparrow! We made a surprise stop at American Girl Place for Janelle. The McDonalds at Times Square had a mural all over it's walls and a 3d model too. It was also cool when a singing group sang in the subway, they were really good! What a day.
