Mountain Retreat

All Campus Retreat is a Providence tradition of which I now have the privelage to have participated in. We went up Friday afternoon and left Saturday night. Inbetween we listened to three talks by Bill Godfrey on PCC's new motto "In Christ all things New". There were also fun team games including making an ice cream sundae on someone's forehead from standing on a chair, making posters, writing promotional skits and knowing random facts about fellow classmates. During freetime we played ultimate frizbee, went stargazing and ate their camp meals. I saw a shooting star and my first live raccoon.

PCC Volleyball

I've gone to games two nights so far, and they area always fun! Sure, we rarely win, but we play hard and I always enjoy seeing the game played. I had a great time taking pictures last time, some of them turned out alright.

New College President

I took pictures at the inaugeration recessional thing, but not at the event itself. I did however somewhat document the question and answer session they had with the students. As you can see, if he got a "high stakes" question wrong he got water dumped on his head.

Curfew over...

As most of you already know I got in my first car accident, a fender bender and front crusher, our first night of no curfew. We were going to drive to the beach and walk the pier but plans change as we three rear ended each other when a car suddenly stopped in a construction zone. Some people went to the beach still, but I went home.
Below we are balancing on parking lot posts while waiting for the tow truck...

WIPEOUT!!!

Student Senate hosted a campus event which involved dividing us into teams and taking on a series of challenges. It was a lot of fun. Events included balance beaming while being assaulted by water balloons, hulahoop passing, tug of war over a pit of wet flour, a five legged race, water balloon volleyball and a tie breaker involving a pool filled with koolaid.

Of course after the games were done, the boys had to dunk each other into the pool - boys will be boys. :)

Bonfire

A wonderful evening under the stars and amid the mooing of dairy cows! Some of the students are from a dairy farm a few minutes away from campus, and they invited us to a bonfire. It was a great night of marshmallows, getting to know each other more and enjoying the California moon.

My first In n' Out Burger!

After the concert enough of us wanted to stop so around 1:30 in the morning I ate my first time at In N' Out. It was good :). Now I can belong here... lol. :)

Hollywood Bowl

What an amazing night! I will never forget it, I'm sure! Just seeing John Williams in person was so neat! Well, we arrived early at the Hollywood Bowl so we'd get out sooner, due to the insane California parking pictured right above. We ate in the picnic area and then went to our seats. There were lightsabers for sale and a lot of us bought them (including me :) and they really enhanced the experience! At first we messed around with them until the concert started. He played a lot of Harry Potter, then things like Casablanca and superman and a general tribute to the movies. Then he left! We all clapped but were wondering where our star wars was! Then he came back out and we all cheered and screamed and he played the Star Wars main title, (note the lightsabers coming out), went out, we cheered, he came back in and played ET then repeated this and played the empire theme - the stage turned red, as did many of the lightsabers in the audience. :) No Indy though, but he had us going for awhile. It was a great evening! I had sooo much fun!

Beach Day!

Hot dogs, surf, sun, shopping, jamba juice, enough said!

Quakes game

The great amarican passtime.
Many students attended a Quakes game last week. It was a time of fun and fellowship and getting to know each other even better. I just loved that we could see the mountains. It was also fun teaching one of my roomates to "charge" since she hadn't really attended many of these. :)

Popular Passtime

Night volleyball is a huge hit at Providence and I must admit I have really enjoyed it! It is fun and relaxing, even though we do keep score. I even served overhanded a few times!
